Everything
I’m on a plane crossing Istanbul on my way to Kazakhstan to join some amazing people in this workshop
Originally I was going to fly stopping by Frankfurt, but yesterday, when I was about to check in on that first flight I got notified it was cancelled.
After three hours dealing with the agency and the airline, the only thing I could do was request for a refund and get another FLIGHT.
The prices were f* higher, but refusing not to do the workshop and spending two weeks off in London wasn’t even an option.
That price tag became to my eyes just what it is, numbers, and I’d rather fuck up my finances balance than the way I spend my time.
While in the airport, a lot of stuff that has been parked in the back of my mind started to arise.
The typeface I did and then I had to remake, my aim to find more time to play guitar more consistently, that coding stuff I started doing one night, the meditation I haven’t done in the last weeks and other thousand projects and ideas I don’t make time for.
I know, that has been overwhelming, and I can imagine many of you being in the same place, trying to intertwin personal life, relationships, traveling, work and side projects all at once.
Beyond the lack of time and the horrible fact that a day is 24h long and we need to rest to keep on going, I think living by separating everything in small buckets contained on time doesn’t help to make the most of what we do, whether is work, cooking or taking care of others. If we could live life more holistically, making work a moment of play, instead of being an 8 hour activity to get an income, If we could prioritise individual needs, collectively building small local communities, instead of focusing in building worldwide networks of LinkedIn profiles, If we could do exercise to connect body and mind, instead of checking ourselves in the mirror to see if we fit the social standards, if we could live in another countries and get to know about other cultures for a bit instead of trying to force other countries to embrace the western lifestyle through selling souvenirs and guided tours through skyscrapers.
If everything could come as an open unity.
If everything was unstructured by nature.
If everything had a voice, but not the same one.
If everything could be you.
If everything could be me
Where will I start?
Isn’t it happening already?
